FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 5, 2024

Disaster Relief continues to market its service in Florida to victims of Hurricane Ian, and in Maui to those who lost homes to the Lahaina Fire. In addition, the Company has begun work with the State of New Mexico to provide a financial recovery solution to homeowners in Lincoln County, whose residences were either destroyed by the South Fork Fire or Salt Fire or flooded due to the subsequent monsoon rains that fell on the burn scars.

“We’ve made a lot of progress in the past several months,” said Mark Stockton, CEO of Disaster Relief, “In addition to making progress on Loss Report deals in Hawaii and Florida, we’ve also added some new personnel and forged some new alliances to help get the word out about the Federal Casualty Loss program.”

Stockton announced the addition of Rich Carlson as COO and Alyson Caffery as CMO and indicated that Disaster Relief is in the process of forming an Advisory Board consisting of individuals both within and outside of the company to add depth to the Disaster Relief team.

In addition to the new hires, Disaster Relief has recently formed a relationship with Liberty Tax Service in New Mexico, to provide disaster victims with a complete solution for Casualty Loss program participation. The company will extend this relationship to all disaster areas throughout the United States.

Stockton also announced the debut of a new website, https://lossrecovery.biz In order to help disaster victims estimate the amount of recovery they might reasonably expect, with an easy-to-use calculator that takes into account the individual’s income and tax filing status, the cost basis in the property, and the decrease in Fair Market Value based upon the extent of the damage, regardless of the type of disaster (fire, flood, tornado, etc.).

“In the past people were never sure if or when they should file their casualty loss,” said Stockton, “The casualty loss program has always been a bit of a mystery to even seasoned tax professionals. Our new website makes it easy to work with homeowners and get quick reliable estimates of the effect of using form 4684.”

Disaster Relief remains committed to helping those whose homes have been damaged or destroyed by weather related disasters, recover unreimbursed losses so they can begin rebuilding their homes and their lives.
